Welcome Note to MBAAI Members

Who are we?
Our Hospital is extremely old, the first child came into the National Children’s hospital in 1821! Now around 60,000 babies, children and adolescents come to our Hospital every year for treatment. We also do a lot of research into adolescents’ diseases and ways to make them better.

What do we do?
We raise money so that the National Children’s Hospital can have the very best equipment, facilities and toys.

How do we do it?
There are lots of events that we organise to raise money and lots of people who help us – you too can get involved and help the National Children’s Hospital:

• You could have fun organising a fundraising event such as a raffle or a party or a sponsored event - such as a swim or walk. Click here for A-Z of ideas

• Companies where your family or friends work can also help the NCH by becoming Corporate Partners

Fundraising - Top Ten Tips
You know you want to support the National Children’s Hospital, but not sure how – here are some ideas to make your event tip top!

1. Decide what you want to do
2. Allow plenty of time for your event
3. Set a date
4. Decide who will help with your event
5. Run your ideas by an adult or teacher
6. Get your publicity material from the National Children’s Hospital
7. Think about possible problems that may crop up, e.g. bad weather
8. Always have two people to count the money
9. Contact local press, radio and TV stations

10. Send your photos, money and story to the National Children’s Hospital and we will be able to include some of your photos in our newsletter.

Ladies Mini Marathon
Are your mum or her friends planning to run the Women's Mini Marathon? It takes place every June. If so, why don't they run for the National Children's Hospital? All the team receive a NCH T-Shirt and fundraising pack and the full support of the Hospital's fundraising department for any help or advice. Cross the finish like and it's only a short stagger a Hotel taken over by the NCH Appeal Fund Office for the day, where the whole family can enjoy refreshments and a bit of craic!

Gold Classic
Parents and friends can join in our annual Golf Classic which takes place every June either by entering a team or by company sponsorship. This is a great day out with over 40 of four. The day is completed with dinner and a prize-giving in the evening.

Overseas Walk
The National Children's annual Overseas Walk usually takes place every October. During our last couple of overseas walks over 100 people have enjoyed beautiful scenery, local hospitality and lots of walking. The Walk is one of our biggest annual events, raising money for very important equipment for the National Children's Hospital. We are always looking for walkers, so if any mums, dads, grans, family or friends want to 'walk a week away' for a great cause, please do get in touch with us.

Pen 'n' Pencil Appeal
Lots of schools and companies throughout Ireland support the NCH every year selling fun pens and pencils in order to raise money. Many thanks to the thousands of boys and girls, teachers and companies who join in our Appeal every year. Last year 100 000 were sold and this year we hope to sell 110 000 pens and pencils!! 

Ladies Guild Lunch
The Ladies Guild organise a fantastic lunch every December - a great day out for your mum and her friends! The lunch raises lots of money for the National Children's Hospital. 

Corporate Partners
The National Children’s Hospital  has always relied on public support and this is still essential to help us provide world class, specialist, child health care. We fund vital services such as new facilities and medical equipment, research into childhood illnesses, parent accommodation and play specialists.

Companies play a vital part in this objective. There are many ways in which companies can support the National Children’s Hospital and help us continue to provide the very best care for sick children.

• Charity of the Year - lots of companies are discovering the fun and benefits of supporting a chosen charity. This can be a great way of motivating staff behind one objective, with a variety of team building, exciting and social activities.
• Cause related Marketing Partnership – Give a percentage of your product or service to the NCH and the NCH logo will help you to build strong brand values with your target customers.
